Flights to Rijeka

Rijeka's Airport

     Rijeka's airport is actually on Krk Island, 30km from town. There is an airport bus meeting all flights and leaving from the town centre to the airport.

     If you're flying to Zagreb there's a bus shuttle transfer from the Zagreb Airport to Rijeka. It leaves Zagreb at 3.30pm and Rijeka at 5am. The cost is 135HRK. Call 51-330 207 or 51-336 757 for further information.

Trains to Rijeka

     From the Zagreb train station there are four trains daily to Rijeka (5 hours). There are also seven daily trains from Ljubljana (3 hours).  Although it is possible to take a train to Rijeka from Split, there's a long change so it's usually faster to take the bus.

Buses to Rijeka

The frequent buses to Zagreb make bus travel a cheaper and more convenient method of getting to Rijeka than the railway. There's hardly a spot in Croatia that doesn't have a bus to Rijeka. An excellent site for bus information is www.autotrans.hr.

Ferries to Rijeka

The main ferry line chugging into Rijeka's port is Jadrolinija twice a week coastal ferry that runs back and forth from Dubrovnik making stops in Korcula, Hvar and Split. The only other convenient ferry connection is the daily passenger boat that connects Rijeka with Rab and Novalja on Pag Island. See the schedule.
