Trade Air runs seasonal flights from Rijeka to Osijek, Split and Dubrovnik.

International

Many low-cost carriers choose to fly to Rijeka. For example Ryanair connects Rijeka to London (Stansted), Frankfurt, Charleroi and Stockholm. Rijeka's Airport

Rijeka's airport is actually on Krk Island, 30km from town. There is an airport bus meeting all flights and leaving from the town centre to the airport.

Zagreb Airport to Rijeka

If you're flying to Zagreb there's a bus shuttle transfer from the Zagreb Airport to Rijeka. It leaves Zagreb at 3.30pm and Rijeka at 5am. The cost is €24. See the Pleso Prijevoz website to buy tickets online or call 51-330 207 or 51-336 757 for further information.

Trains to Rijeka

From the Zagreb train station there's one train to Rijeka (5 hours). There are also seven daily trains from Ljubljana (3 hours).  Although it is possible to take a train to Rijeka from Split, there's a long change in Zagreb making it much faster to take the bus.

There's one daily international train from Vienna to Rijeka. Check schedules and book with thetrainline.com.

And, there's at least one daily train from Ljubljana to Rijeka that take about three hours. See bahn.de for schedules and booking.

Check the schedules at flixbus which is usually faster and more frequent than the trains.

Buses to Rijeka

The frequent buses to Zagreb make bus travel a cheaper and more convenient method of getting to Rijeka than the railway. There's hardly a spot in Croatia that doesn't have a bus to Rijeka. An excellent site for bus information and online booking is Bookaway.

Ferries to Rijeka

There are no car ferries to or from Rijeka, only passenger ferries. Jadrolinija connects Rijeka with Rab and Novalja on Pag Island. Another Jadrolinija ferry connects Rijeka with Cres and Mali Losinj. Now a new service from GV-Zadar connects Rijeka with Krk, Lopar, Silba and Zadar in the summer providing a vital link between northern and southern Croatia.
