In choosing the following family hotels, I heavily weighted access to sand or pebble beaches on a sheltered bay. Swimming pools, children's clubs and activities are also important. The Croatian coast and islands are replete with two and sometimes three-room apartments that are roomier than hotels and with kitchens so the kids can feast on their favourite snacks.
