Stately and very traditional, the Hotel Palace is the oldest hotel in Zagreb but there's nothing stuffy about it. The rooms are beautifully decorated in the finest materials, exuding an aura of Old Europe but also equipped with high-speed internet connections. Many overlook a park.

The dining room or the Palace Hotel is spacious and illuminated with chandeliers and lamps. The conference rooms are also furnished with style and equipped with all necessary equipment for a multimedia presentation.

Built in 1907, the Hotel Palace is within walking distance of the train station and Zagreb's centre making it easy to enjoy the nightlife and restaurants of Croatia's capital.

Press review of the Hotel Palace

It's an elegant but casual place with lots of dark, polished wood in the public areas and fine leather furniture in the lobby. Upstairs, my single room -- one of 123 rooms and suites -- followed the European single-room standard, i.e. cramped. Still, comfortable enough, and it had a nicely accessorized (but tiny) bathroom -- shower only. Chicago Tribune
