The Zagreb Tourist Train is an easy and cheap way to see the major sights of Lower Zagreb. How cheap? It's free! And, it runs daily. You can hop and off as you like, taking time to explore Zagreb sights. The train departs from Trg Jelacica every hour from 9.30am to 7.30pm. Here's a map of the route:

From Trg Jelacica, you can easily walk to Dolac Market and Tkalciceva Street. From Ilica, you can take the funicular to see St Marks Church, Lotrscak Tower and other Upper Town sights. From Frankopanska, you're close to the National Theatre, and a number of museums. From Praska, you can visit the Strossmayer Gallery, one of Zagreb's most prestigious art museums.
