Saplunara Beach, part of the tiny settlement of Saplunara, is on the tip of Mljet Island. It is sheltered, calm and composed of fine, white sand that rises gently into dunes. Best of all, no one knows about it. Well, hardly anyone. Shhhhhhh! In fact, there are two beaches, a larger and smaller one, on the bay of Saplunara which faces the southwest. The photo above is of the larger beach. The entire bay is about one kilometer long and, at its narrowest, is only 350 meters wide. More from Croatia TravellerAbout Croatia Travel Questions
