Badija Island

Administered by the Franciscan Monastery that dates back to the 15th century, Badija Island is now a popular excursion destination for both locals and visitors. Despite the austere facade you see here, the interior of the monastery contains a Gothic-Renaissance church with a Renaissance portal, and intricately-carved cornice crowns. The monastery building has been renovated a number of times but the Gothic-Renaissance cloister remains one of the most exquisite in Dalmatia.
