Koprivnicko-Krizevacka county in northern Croatia lies between the Drava river in the north and the Bjelovarsko-Bilogorska county in the south. The two main towns are Koprivnica and Krizevci. Koprivnica is at the intersection of roads leading to Zagreb, Varazdin and Osijek and also has a frequent train connection to Hungary. Its location has made the town relatively prosperous as a commercial centre. When the Ottomans were marching on Europe, Koprivnica was fortified but little remains. Still, Koprivnica is worth visiting. Anglers especially appreciate the nearby Drava river and the lakes Soderica, Jegenis and Vidak. The forests to the south are attractive to hunters. Krizevci is also a prosperous commercial centre 31km southwest of Koprivnica. It's the oldest town in the region and was once an important stronghold against the Ottoman Empire. There are several ornate churches and an Augustine monastery. Related PagesFurther ResourcesKoprivnicko-Krizevacka Tourist Board
