![]() The coastal ferry "Liburnija" Jadrolinija runs a coastal ferry route only from June to September. The route covers Rijeka, Split, Hvar, Korcula, Mljet and Dubrovnik. (See a map of the Coastal Ferry route) Although the coastal ferry once served an essential function transporting cars and freight up and down the coast, its usefulness has been supplanted by the new coastal highway that runs from Rijeka to just south of Split. Consequently, the coastal car ferry is somewhat under-utilized which is bad for Jadrolinija's bottom line but very good for travellers seeking a comfortable, uncrowded ride! And the coastal ferry is comfortable. The ferry is large, with a spacious dining hall and multiple lounges to stretch out. There are cabins for the overnight passage between Rijeka and Split and the interior spaces are all air-conditioned. A no-smoking policy is enforced. See more on Jadrolinija's on-board amenities. You can book the coastal ferry online.
Here is the coastal ferry timetable that ran from May 30 to September 29 2011:
