Trieste is the best jumping off point for buses to Pula as there are up to four daily that make the 3 3/4hour run. The timetables are geared to Pula residents who run up to Trieste to shop or work, not for Trieste residents who vacation in Pula.There's also a bus from Padua that stops in Venice and Trieste before heading to Pula.
