Private accommodation in Rijeka is nearly non-existent but there are a few good hotels. My favourite Rijeka hotel is the four-star Grand Hotel Bonavia. First of all, the location is great--right in the centre of town and near the port. You can practically roll out of bed and onto your ferry plus it's easy to get home after a night of clubbing. Then there are the rooms which are sumptuous and well-outfitted with minibars, flat screen TVs, internet plugs and other comforts. And finally, there's the warm and professional service. The English-speaking staff is happy to help out with sightseeing suggestions and ways to make your stay in Rijeka a pleasure.
There are other hotels in Rijeka of course. A little further out
of town is the four-star Best Western Jadran with a spiffy wellness centre. Closer to town
is the two-star Hotel
Continental and the newly renovated three-star Hotel
Neboder.

Budget travellers to Rijeka will enjoy the Rijeka Youth Hostel located in a 19th-century villa just outside town. Even better is the unusual Botel Marina, a passenger ferry transformed into a hotel/hostel with singles, doubles and dorms. The new Hostel Morcic has been getting great reviews for its spiffy decor and excellent location.
Vacation rentals are a relatively new concept in Rijeka but are now all the rage. There's a wide assortment of rooms, apartments and guesthouses in central Rijeka now. Most are newly renovated, modern and offer first-rate amenities.
