Only 28km south of Zadar, Biograd na Moru is a small town on a small peninsula. On the southern side is the beautiful Soline Cove with a large sand beach and a pine forest.
Pretty as Biograd is, it mainly serves as a jumping off point to even lovelier areas. Several agencies run boat excursions to the remarkable Kornati Islands National Park, otherwise inaccessible to tourists. You can also tour the watery Telascica Nature Park and nearby Vransko Lake, the largest lake in Croatia. Pasman Island is another popular destination.
Biograd is easily reachable by car or bus from nearby Zadar. There are no trains to Biograd.
Biograd is less touristy than Istria and Dalmatia with a relatively short tourist season that runs from mid-July through August.
