Pula is linked to Venice, Italy by passenger ferry (catamaran) but unfortunately there are only ferries in the height of the summer season--from June through August. Ferries are only a few times a week. The trip is fast (from 2 1/2 to 4 hours depending on whether it's non-stop) and reliable but it's essential to book it in advance. The ferry harbour in Pula is just steps from the historic town centre. See more on passenger ferries from Italy to Croatia.

Jadrolinija has recently reinstated its popular year-round passenger ferry service from Pula to Mali Losinj and Zadar. It's the only local ferry line from Pula.
